Young All Whites into last 16 at U-17 World Cup

New Zealand's through to the last 16 at at the Under-17 football World Cup in Mexico after a scoreless draw with the United States.

The Americans dominated possession in the first half but seldom looked as if they'd score and lost their captain midway through the second when he was sent off for a second yellow card.

The young All Whites looked better after half-time but only two of the four shots on goal they managed were on target.

New Zealand's drawn third on lots after finishing level with the USA on four points and on goal difference, two points behind the group winners Uzebkistan who eliminated the Czech Republic.

The Young All Whites will now face Japan in their first knockout game on Thursday.
