Murdoch misses out on the medals

New Zealand Laser sailor Andrew Murdoch's missed out on the medals at the Weymouth pre-Olympic test regatta, finishing fourth overall after leading heading into the medal race.

Murdoch crashed to seventh in the decider, Australian Tom Slingsby taking the gold after battling his way through the fleet to win, just edging Dutchman Rutger van Schaardenburg and winning by three points ahead of van Schaardenburg and five ahead of Britain's Paul Goodison.

Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie took a win in the women's 470 medal race and secured the third of three fourth place finishes for New Zealand at this regatta so far, along with Murdoch and windsurfer Jon-Paul Tobin.
