Ogier wins Rally of Germany

Sebastien Ogier has won the ninth leg of the World Rally Championship, the Rally of Germany, giving Citroen a record-breaking 78th win in the sport.

Ogier beat his compatriot and teammate Sebastien Loeb, the series leader, by 40 seconds to record his sixth career win, and the Spaniard Dani Sordo was third in a Mini.

Ogier's victory, his first WRC win on tarmac, moved him to second place in the standings, 25 points behind Loeb.

The 10th round of 13 is in Australia in the second week of next month.
