Deans confident All Blacks will cope with loss of Carter

The Wallabies coach Robbie Deans says he's gutted for the All Blacks first five Dan Carter but he's confident the men in black have the depth and strength of character to cope with the loss of their star playmaker.

Carter tore a tendon in his groin during a kicking drill at the captains run yesterday, and will play no further part in the world cup.

Deans is devastated for the 29-year-old but he says the All Blacks are still the team to beat.
