Murray to face Ferrer in Shanghai final

Defending champion Andy Murray pummelled Japan's Kei Nishikori 6-3 6-0 to reach the final of the Shanghai Masters and will complete a stunning Asian tennis hat-trick if he beats David Ferrer on Monday.

The British world number four was never troubled by Nishikori who lacked the firepower to upset the defending champion who has been unstoppable throughout the Asian swing, winning back to back titles in Bangkok and Tokyo.

Earlier Ferrer beat fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez 6-7 6-3 6-3.

A win for Murray would also propel him to third above Roger Federer in the world rankings and consign the Swiss ace to his lowest ranking in more than eight years.
