Ko aims at making the cut at Aussie Masters

6:03 am on 2 February 2012

After making world headlines last weekend as the youngest person to win a professional golf tournament, the 14 year old Aucklander Lydia Ko says her goal at this week's Australian Ladies Masters on the Gold Coast is simply to make the cut.

But local bookmakers are taking no chances with the world's top-ranked amateur, listing her on the fourth line of bettting at 17 to 1 to add to last weekend's New South Wales Open victory.

One of Ko's playing partners in today's opening round is the 16 year old American star Lexi Thompson, who qualified for the US Open as a 12 year old, and is the LPGA tour's youngest winner, at 16.
