Adams disappointed to miss play-off matches

7:21 am on 8 February 2012

The former Black Cap Andre Adams says he's disappointed he won't be able to help Auckland finish off their one day cricket campaign.

Adams along with new internationals Ronnie Hira and Colin de Grandhomme will miss today's sudden death semi-final against Otago in Auckland.

Hira and de Grandhomme are off to join the Blackcaps in their preparation for the Twenty20 series against Zimbabwe, while Adams has got a contract in the Bangladesh Twenty20 competition which starts this week.

They're replaced by Bruce Martin and Bhupinder Singh.

Adams says he really wanted to help Auckland defend their title, but that's the nature of professional cricket these days.

The winner of today's match will meet Central Districts in Sunday's final.
