Black Caps take first T20

New Zealand has beaten Zimbabwe by seven wickets in their first Twenty20 cricket international at Eden Park in Auckland.

Zimbabwe made 159 for eight off 20 overs with Hamilton Masakadza reaching 53 and Elton Chigumbura blasting 48.

Martin Guptill continued his rich vein of form for the Black Caps with 91 not out while Kane Williamson reached 48 as the hosts got to 160 for three with 19 balls remaining.

New Black Cap Michael Bates took three wickets for 31 while fellow debutant Roneel Hira took one for 22.
