Guptill continues where he left off against Zimbabwe

Martin Guptill's rich vein of form continues against Zimbabwe - the opening batsman scored 91 not out to help the New Zealand cricketers to a seven-wicket win in the first of two Twenty20 games in Auckland on Saturday night.

Batting first Zimbabwe made 159 for eight but the Black Caps knocked off the target with three overs and a ball to spare.

Guptill, whose average is nudging 75 in the Zimbabwe series, and Kane Williamson, who made 48, put on 137 for the third wicket after coming together with the home side 15 for two.

Left-arm seamer Michael Bates was the best of the New Zealand bowlers taking 31 for three.

Zimbabwe's tour finishes in Hamilton on Tuesday with the second Twenty20 international.
