Cunning plan by United fan to slow up City

A Manchester United fan has come up with a cunning plan to fight a council order that he sell land to the Premier League title rival football club, Manchester City.

Shaun O'Brien has divided the land at his vehicle recovery company near City's Etihad Stadium into 18,500 individual square-foot plots, and is selling them online for 250 pounds each.

He says that will make the club negotiate for each plot to get the property it wants for a new training complex.

O'Brien wrote on the website Unite Against the City that he wants to prevent Manchester City furthering its goals of football domination.

The site is now subject to a compulsory purchase order from the council.
