Meanwhile a stoppage-time goal from Andre Ayew gave the French club Olympique Marseille a 1-0 home win over Inter Milan in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
And Manchester City have booked their place in the last 16 of the Europa League with a crushing 4-0 second leg home victory over defending Portuguese champions Porto that gave them a 6-1 aggregate win.
