Hammett feels better about scrum after talking to referees boss

12:33 pm on 29 February 2012

The Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett is a little more relaxed about the state of his scrum after discussing some issues with Sanzar referees manager Lyndon Bray.

The inexperienced Hurricanes front row was under a lot of pressure in their loss to the Stormers in their opening Super Rugby match in Cape Town at the weekend and referee Marius Jonker penalised them heavily.

Hammett says he's been reassured by Bray that it wasn't all their fault....

Hammett says they are reasonably confident in their other set piece, the lineout, which was also under pressure in cape Town.... and feels his players didn't adapt very well on the day.
