It is the Crown's turn to give evidence at the inquiry into the running of Maori language pre-schools this week.
Past and present chief executives and senior staff of the Ministry of Education will appear before the Waitangi Tribunal in Wellington.
Last week, the inquiry heard evidence from Te Kohanga Reo Trust, which brought a claim for self-management.
The movement lodged the claim with the tribunal last year following a Ministry of Education report which was critical of some kohanga.
