Tom Roa, the new chair of the Waikato-Tainui executive, says its members will build tribal pride over the next three years.
Former chair, Tukoroirangi Morgan, last week he announced he's moving on and considering new job prospects, and Mr Roa - who was re-elected to the board in February - was appointed to the role.
Board members are focussed on strengthening relationships, building tribal pride and empowering the people over the next three-years, he says.
Hemi Rau takes over the position of deputy chair.
