Ngati Tuwharetoa has confirmed that its paramount chief, Sir Tumu te Heuheu is resigning from his role as chair of the iwi's trust board.
Sir Tumu says he aims to focus on being the tribal chief.
The tribe hasn't yet responded to questions from Te Manu Korihiasking who'll take over the role of chair of the Tuwharetoa Maori Trust Board.
