A Maori broadcaster living in Christchurch during many of the earthquakes says she tried hard to put whanau at ease while on-air, but admits it was tough remaining calm during the many aftershocks.
Tuesday was the second anniversary of the first major shake to hit Canterbury - a magnitude 7.1 quake centred near Darfield during the early hours of 4 September 2010.
Lisa Reedy, of Ngati Porou descent, was a morning announcer on Tahu FM at the time.
Ms Reedy says she felt a sense of responsibility to keep the Maori community informed about how and where they could get help.
However, she admits that after dozens of tremors, she found it difficult to cope while live on air.
Ms Reedy and her husband recently decided to leave the city they love and move to Hamilton to start afresh.
