The body overseeing the Fire Service now has Maori representation.
Rangi Wills has been appointed to the board of the Fire Service Commission.
Internal Affairs Minister Chris Tremain says he is particularly pleased to bring Maori representation back to the board, as Maori are a big part of the Volunteer Fire Service.
