The new Maori All Blacks coach is on the hunt for players who are proud of their Maori heritage.
Colin Cooper of Ngati Pukenga, has been named the head mentor, who'll lead the team in its end of year tour to North America.
Cooper played over 100 matches for Taranaki and in the early 1980s, he was selected for the Maori All Blacks.
While on tour in North America, Cooper will be helped by assistant coaches Tabai Matson and Carl Hoeft, and will be joined by Luke Crawford as the team's kaumatua.
He says player selection will be key to the future and success of the team.
Cooper wants to select talent who aspire to be All Blacks and are keen to represent Maori.
The new coach says the difficulty will be finding players who aren't already committed to the All Blacks or the ITM Cup.
