Ngati Kahungunu interim chief executive Adele Whyte has secured the position permanently.
Dr Whyte was the director of the Fisheries and Environment Unit for three years before stepping in as interim chief executive when Meka Whaitiri successfully won the Ikaroa-Rawhiti by-election for Labour in June.
Runanga chairman Ngahiwi Tomoana says the iwi is pleased to have been able to nurture and grow its chief executive.
