Jackson to return to Radio Waatea airwaves

7:18 pm on 26 November 2013

Maori broadcaster Willie Jackson is returning to present his Radio Waatea current affairs programme, which is syndicated to iwi radio stations.

Jackson agreed to stand down from the programme earlier this month, after he and Radio Live co-host John Tamihere came under fire for an interview with a young woman about a group accused of having sex with drunk, and sometimes underage, girls.

The duo is off Radio Live airwaves for the rest of the year.

UMA Broadcasting Limited general manager Bernie O'Donnell confirmed Jackson would be back on Radio Waatea next Monday.
