A digital app to guide driving tours centred on details of the Waikato War is gaining more attention from groups wanting to publish history about the New Zealand Wars.
The app is a joint initiative by the Historic Places Trust and Waikato-Tainui, and was launched in January last year.
It provides information about 13 battle sites including Rangiriri, where both tangata whenua and British troops lost their lives.
The Historic Places Trust's Heritage Destination's central manager, Amy Hobbs, says it's received interest from a range of groups, including from Auckland and Taranaki.
She says it's being approached by councils and groups throughout the country that want to know about its resource, possibly because a range of war commemorations are taking place.
