Some submissions made after a hui on kohanga reo are calling on the vNational Trust Board to stand down.

The first working party meeting to look at the future of the movement is being held in Rotorua on Thursday.

Seven people are part of the group which has to gather feedback and make a report by November this year.

Sir Toby Curtis, who is representing interests of kaumatua, says its first task is to review all the submissions made. Some called for board members to go, while others said they should stay in their roles.

Sir Toby says it will take about two months to get views from people around the country and ask if those views should be endorsed. There could then be a plan toward a possible restructure of kohanga reo.

The main hui over three days at Turangawaewae earlier in April was called before allegations of financial mismanagement surfaced.
