A project to link marae to ultra-fast broadband sparks into life on Thursday.
Te Kotahitanga Marae in Whangarei will be hooked up to high-speed internet.
It's the first phase in a scheme run by the Crown-backed Maori broadband group, Nga Pu Waea.
Two marae in Auckland will be next.
Nga Pu Waea (the National Maori Broadband Working Group) was set up in 2011 by the Government.
