A Maori Women's Welfare League life member says the Government's overlooked its service when considering which providers could distribute Whanau Ora services.
Whanau Ora is a programme which brings social welfare providers together to deliver their services to families.
A life member for the league, Dame Iritana Tawhiwhirangi, praises Whanau Ora but says it's obvious that the league should have been involved.
The league was formed in 1951, and is a welfare group for Maori women and children.
It has been heavily involved in helping whanau in areas such as housing, health, and education.
