Lorde has split with the manager who oversaw her rise to fame.

Sources have confirmed to The Wireless that the singer and her manager Scott Maclachlan have parted ways.

Lorde’s photo has been removed from website of Maclachlan’s Saiko Management, however he has so far declined to comment on the situation.

Maclachlan had been involved with the singer’s career since 2008, when he signed her to a development contract with Universal Music after seeing her perform at a school talent show. He was working as an A&R guy for the label at the time.

Last week he won the international achievement award at the MMF Music managers Awards for the second year running, in recognition of his work with the pop star and singing brothers Sol3Mio.

Earlier this month, Lorde confirmed she was returning to the studio with Joel Little, the producer and co-writer of her Grammy-winning debut Pure Heroine, to begin work on a second album.

Lorde has been nominated for top rock artist and top rock album at today’s Billboard Music Awards.
