Outspoken: Shasha Ali

12:26 pm on 30 September 2015

Outspoken is a video series about real people who care about real issues.

Shasha Ali is a Muslim feminist who wants to use her faith to help others like her.

She arrived in New Zealand from Singapore and says that without a support network here, she, and others like her, had to find family in friends and put their differences aside to support one another.

“All of the struggles of people from marginalised backgrounds can be relatable. And I think, for me, as a person that has her own story of indigenous struggle, that’s where I come from.”
