Name: Motte (Anita Clark).

Age (of project): Started earlier this year.

Hometown: Lyttelton, Christchurch.

Associated acts: Devilish Mary and the Holy Rollers.

Sounds like: Neo Classical tape delay violin. Sounds like what you would imagine it would feel like to be stuck inside a hothouse in the dead of night... full of tropical plants, flying insects, and a suffocatingly humid atmosphere.

Musical guilty pleasure: 60s lounge and exotica…Herb Albert, Martin Denny, Les Baxter and his Orchestra…Hawaiian music... those 10 hour long YouTube ambient tracks of running bath water, or a hairdryer. White noise.

Formative musical experience: A few Irish pub bands, The Ragamuffin Children, six months of Jazz School, The Eastern, Devilish Mary and the Holy Rollers, lots of studio and session work and collaborations.
