A nuclear security summit in Seoul has ended with nations reaffirming their commitment to reduce the use of highly enriched uranium.
The final communique from the summit calls on countries to say by the end of 2013 what they plan to do to restrict the future use of highly enriched uranium, separated plutonium and other potentially dangerous materials, the ABC reports.
However, it does not set any firmer deadline and says such a move is voluntary.
The leaders of 53 nations attended the summit, including New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.
The next summit will be held in the Netherlands in 2014.
