Two tornadoes swept through the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area in Texas on Tuesday.
Roofs were pulled off houses and tractor trailers were tossed around.
All planes were grounded at Dallas-Fort Worth International airport,
There were no immediate reports of injuries or deaths.
New Zealand MP Jacinda Ardern, who was at the airport, says it was a frightening experience.
She told Morning Report she heard a huge roar before the tornado struck. Hailstones the size of golfballs had since been falling.
