New Yorkers have been treated to the spectacle of the retired space shuttle, Enterprise, taking its last flight as it prepares to become a permanent museum exhibit.
Tens of thousands of people looked on as Enterprise, mounted on a Boeing 747 jet, flew low over the Hudson River, past New York's dramatic skyline.
The shuttle is due to be hoisted aboard the aircraft carrier, Intrepid, a floating museum in Manhattan, before going on public display in July.
