Sudan has released four foreigners who were detained last month in a disputed area near the border with South Sudan.

Former South African President, Thabo Mbeki, mediated for their release.

Reports say the four - from Britain, Norway, South Africa and South Sudan - are de-mining specialists and were collecting war debris.

Sudan had said they were suspected of aiding South Sudan. They were detained on 28 April.
