Gay scouts and scout leaders not wanted in US

The governing body of Boy Scouts of America has announced it will continue to deny membership to gay scouts and scout leaders.

Chief executive Bob Mazzuca says the policy protects the rights of families that prefer to address issues of sexuality in private.

The decision was the result of a two-year internal evaluation, carried out in response to repeated complaints over the policy.
