An Australian rower has been sent home from the Olympic Games after a drunken rampage in London.

Josh Booth, 21, has apologised to the owners of two businesses after breaking shop windows in a village near the rowing course at Eton Dorney.

Booth was drowning his sorrows over the men's eight finishing last in the final on Wednesday. He reportedly believed he was breaking into his own home.

The ABC reports no charges have been laid.

Booth has also apologised to his team-mates and the Australian Olympic Committee. He has agreed to pay reparation of about £1400.
