One of the competitors in the United States National Scrabble championship has been caught cheating.
The man, who has not been identified, was ejected from the 350-player event, having made it to the 24th round of the 28-round championship.
Organisers say someone at another table saw him conceal two blank tiles, which can be used for any letter.
National Scrabble Association executive director John Williams told the BBC that the player's opponent decided to recount the tiles before the start of the game and discovered two were missing.
"Simultaneous to that, a player at an adjoining table had seen that tiles were on the floor, I guess so that they could be covered by the player's foot."
Mr Williams said that when confronted by tournament officials, the player admitted cheating.
