Two Samsung Electronics advanced OLED television sets went missing last week en route to a consumer electronics fair in Berlin.
Samsung declined to say whether it believed the disappearance could be a case of industrial espionage.
The company said the TVs disappeared between 21 - 28 August and an official complaint had been lodged with the police.
OLED systems are used in smartphones such as Samsung's Galaxy Note because the displays are lighter, thinner and tougher than alternatives.
However, 55-inch models from Samsung and LG would be 10 times the price of an equivalent LCD TV.
