Prince Harry on Taliban hit list

The Taliban says it is determined to kill Britain's Prince Harry, who is serving in Afghanistan.

His previous deployment four years ago was cut short over security concerns.

A Taliban spokesperson, who spoke to AFP by telephone from an undisclosed location, says the Taliban will do its best to kill Prince Harry and other British troops based in the southern province of Helmand.

The 27-year-old Apache helicopter pilot will spend four months based at the heavily fortified Camp Bastion.

Britain's Ministry of Defence says any risk "has been, and will continue to be, assessed".
