A US Navy air squadron arrived at Amberley, west of Brisbane, on Friday.

Three EA-18G Growlers will be stationed at the RAAF base for the next few weeks to help train Australian crews.

In August, Defence Minister Stephen Smith announced the federal government would be buying Growler technology for its fleet of Super Hornets.

The ABC reports the new technology will provide Australia with an ability to disrupt or jam a range of military electronics systems, including radars and communications systems.
