A final result in the ACT election in Canberra will not be known until Saturday at the earliest.
With nearly 84% of the vote in the territory counted on Monday morning, Labor leads the Liberals by fewer than 800 votes.
But the Liberals (38.7% ) are on track to win eight of the 17 seats in the ACT Legislative Assembly, due to a swing of 7%.
AAP reports Labor (39%) retained seven seats. The Greens (10.7%) had their representation halved to two seats.
ACT electoral commissioner Phil Green said the final result will not be known until Saturday at the earliest.
"We still have some votes to count during the week," he told ABC Radio, adding that postal and interstate votes were still being tallied.
