Russia is searching for a cargo ship with at least eight crew and carrying 700 tonnes of gold ore that's vanished off the east coast in stormy conditions.
The Amurskaya went missing on Sunday afternoon, AFP reports.
Officials say three ships have been searching the Okhotsk Sea. Poor weather has stopped air searches.
RIA Novosti news agency reported the value of the ore was estimated at more than $US230,000.
