The death toll following Israel's bombardment of Gaza for eight days has risen to 173, most of them civilians. At least 1300 people were wounded.
Hamas said 1573 rockets were fired at Israel during the conflict.
Six Israelis, two of them soldiers, died from these rockets. Another 240 were injured.
The conflict began on 14 November, when an airstrike by Israel killed Hamas military leader Ahmed Jaabari.
A ceasefire has been in place since 21 November.
