Syrian fighter jets bombed a refugee camp in Damascus on Sunday, killing at least 25 people.

The al-Yarmouk camp houses Palestinian refugees and also Syrians displaced by the fighting.

Foreces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad are fighting rebels around the city of Damascus.

Warplanes bombed rebel positions along the road to Damascus international airport on Saturday.

There are more than 500,000 Palestinian refugees in Syria, most of them in Yarmouk, which is on the southern fringes of Damascus.

It was the first time the camp has been hit since the uprising began in March 2011.

Meanwhile, a rebel commander with the Tawheed Brigade said an army infantry college in northern Aleppo was captured on Saturday after five days of fighting.
