Finger severed during gardening dispute

A woman in Sydney had her finger severed during a gardening dispute with a neighbour on Monday.

Police said a man was trimming a hedge in Killara, on the North Shore at about 7.40pm (AEDT) on Monday when an argument started with his neighbour and the top of her finger was severed with his gardening shears.

AAP reports she was taken to Royal North Shore hospital for surgery to re-attach the finger.

The man was charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm. He was granted bail and will appear in Hornsby Local Court on 30 January.
