Clinton set to return to work after health scare

1:17 pm on 4 January 2013

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is set to return to work after treatment for a blood clot at a New York City hospital.

Mrs Clinton, who has been released from hospital, remains on blood thinning medicine.

Her recent illnesses have been criticized by some as an attempt to get out of difficult Congressional testimony about the attack on the American consulate in the Libyan city of Benghazi.

State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland says Mrs Clinton has been working and will return to the office next week.
