MPs going to Sri Lanka for boat talks

Australian Opposition deputy leader Julie Bishop is leading a delegation to Sri Lanka to talk about asylum seeker boats and people smuggling.

Immigration spokesman Scott Morrison and border protection spokesman Michael Keenan will travel with her on Sunday.

AAP reprots the group will meet senior Sri Lankan government officials and opposition members of parliament to talk about the people smuggling trade.

Ms Bishop said they will also travel to the city of Jaffna, where they will meet Tamil community leaders and see first-hand the conditions under which Tamils are living.
