12:41 pm on 27 January 2013

Four pallets of cigarettes were stolen from a freight company in west Sydney early on Saturday. Police said they were worth $A1.5 million.

It is the second incident in two weeks. Three pallets of cigarettes worth $A600,000 were stolen from the same holding yard in Wetherill Park on 13 January. Police believe the incidents are linked.

The ABC reports that security footage shows three men breaking into the premises around 1am (AEDT), and using a forklift to put the pallets into a truck.

The vehicle was later found burnt out on Eddie Road at Minchinbury.
