Several tornadoes occurred in the southern US states of Mississippi and Alabama on Sunday, injuring at least 60 people.
Hattiesburg in Forrest County, Mississippi, bore the brunt of the storms, with heavy rain.
Hundreds of houses were destroyed or damaged at the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi.
The Alabama Emergency Management Agency said that while the state was hit by bad weather on Sunday, it had so far received no reports of injuries.
The National Weather Service said flooding will become a concern if rainfall continues across the lower Mississippi valley.
