The International Committee of the Red Cross is marking its 150th anniversary.

The BBC reports it was founded in 1863 by the Geneva businessman, Henri Dunant.

Today, the ICRC is present in many of the world's conflict zones, but says the challenges of modern warfare are making its work increasingly difficult.
