Last South Koreans withdrawn from industrial zone

10:18 pm on 3 May 2013

South Korea says the last of its remaining workers are being withdrawn from a joint industrial zone in North Korea which was once seen as the best hope for reconciliation between the countries.

Seoul has already pulled out the bulk of its workforce from the Kaesong industrial park, but seven managers had stayed to settle matters such as taxes and wages for the North Korean workers, the BBC reports.

The North blocked the South's access to Kaesong in April.
