A suicide bomber killed at least 13 people, 10 of them children, in an attack on a military convoy in eastern Afghanistan near the Pakistan border on Monday.
Two coalition soldiers and an Afghan policeman also died.
The bomber, who was on a motorcycle, struck at a market in Samkani district at 11am as the pupils were leaving school after morning lessons. About 20 others were wounded.
The BBC reports a troop convoy was passing the market when the bomb went off.
In a separate incident on Monday, seven people were killed by a roadside bomb in the eastern province of Laghman.
