A suicide bomber driving a car packed with explosives blew himself up near a Kurdish security forces patrol in Iraq, killing at least eight officers.
The bombing took place in the centre of the town of Tuz Khurmato, 170km north of Baghdad early on Sunday.
Both the central government and autonomous Iraqi Kurds claim jurisdiction of the region.
No group claimed responsibility.
More than 800 have been killed in Iraq in July, according to the Iraq Body Count group.
